The social studies course, which has the important function of preparing individuals for social life, is a combination of many social sciences. One of these sciences is sociology, which is defined as the science of society. Social studies textbooks are one of the first places where students encounter sociology, which is one of the main learning areas of social studies. In this sense, there is an important connection between social studies and sociology. In this context, the aim of this study is to examine the distribution and relationality of sociological concepts in the 5th, 6th and 7th grade social studies textbooks prepared and put into practice by the Ministry of National Education in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years. The data sources of the study consist of the 5th grade social studies textbooks prepared by the Ministry of National Education according to the Turkish century education(maarif) model for the 2024-2025 academic year and the 6th and 7th grade social studies textbooks prepared by the Ministry of National Education for the 2023-2024 academic year. The texts in the social studies textbooks were selected as the data source and the texts were analyzed according to the screening model with document analysis technique using qualitative research method. After scanning the social studies textbooks based on Anthony Giddens' 'Sociology' and Gordon Marshall's 'Dictionary of Sociology', concepts were identified. The distribution of sociological concepts according to the learning areas over the 32 identified concepts was shown in tables. In the last part of the study, the findings were interpreted, and it was seen that the use of sociological concepts in 5th, 6th and 7th grade social studies textbooks differed depending on the learning areas, the most sociological concepts were in the “Individual and Society” learning area, and the least sociological concepts were in the “People, Places and Environments” learning area. The most frequently used sociological concepts in the findings were family, culture, society and social concepts.
