Abstract

Raising Awareness on Digital Pollution: Individual and Organizational Productivity

This article aims to raise awareness of the digital pollution problem by providing a comprehensive look at the issue from both individual and institutional perspectives. Digital pollution, a relatively new concept, emerges as a result of digitalization in the modern world. Digitalization, seen as one of the most important results of the 21st century and the peak of the technological age, deeply affects all societies, from individuals to organizations, from local to global dimensions. When considered in the context of businesses, a to-do list emerges that extends from the individual to the organizational level. First of all, it is very important to raise awareness about what digital pollution is. Following this, the digital cleaning phase begins. Digital cleansing is seen as a corporate responsibility that includes both individuals and businesses. Therefore, raising awareness is an important first step. It appears that with increased individual awareness and strategic organizational actions, the effects of digital pollution can be reduced and lead to a more sustainable digital ecosystem. Education, technological solutions and sustainability policies play critical roles in this process. By focusing on education, implementing technological solutions, and implementing sustainability policies, both individuals and organizations can contribute to reducing the effects of digital pollution. This approach will not only improve digital hygiene, but also promote a healthier, more sustainable digital environment for future generations.
